my machine is working in all modes. spinning,filling, etc, etc. but it won't jump to the next setting without me turning the knob. i tried it on both cycles and the same with both. new timer? not sure what to do? maytag model # A 207

Hello,

This certainly sounds like a bad timer or timer motor. If the timer doesn't advance at all I would guess its timer motor. If the timer will advance at times and just stalls where it is, I am guessing the timer contact or timer. I am not sure if you can buy the motor separate from the timer anway. It may have to purchased all in one.
