washing machine keeps filling up with clean water, even when the washer has not been used!! of course when I opened the door it emptied all over it

first check if machine is connected to the sink spigot if not, the inlet fill valve is letting water past valve needs to be replaced if a hot and cold fill will have to find which one,simply isolate one tap and see if machine now fills or not
