I was moving the washing machine and the the thin circular metal spring around door seal came loose. How do I fit it again as it's not clear where it is supposed to go? It fits around the metal lip of the door but if I fit it there the door does not close properly. Does it fit around the rubber of the door seal and if so, how?

yes around the rubber door seal it is tricky but just keep trying.feed it as much as u can around the seal then u strech it to fit good luck
