Dear U, It is likely that the seal is loose ;or needs replacing. Before you purchase another one though, and if you can. Take off the old one preferably using long screwdriver as screws are often at bottom of washing machines and when you replace the seal make sure screws are in a position where YOU can reach them just in case you have to reach it again. Check the seal to see if there are any signs of wear, tear or other types of damage but also when you replace seal make sure that the two holes which are usually located on the seal are at the lowest point of the door when you replace it. When you replace the seal, make sure that the metal banding that should be round the seal (hence the long screwdriver) is round every single part of the replaced seal ;or your old seal and tighten up as much as you can. The metal banding should fit into a gap where it came out from. this would be located around the seal and if the metal banding is not placed properly this would cause further leaks. Before you replace your lid on the washing machine and push it back into place, may I suggest that you start the machine if possible to check for any other leaks. If you have a linoleum floor, it might be advisable to dampen to take out and place washing machine back into position but do not soak floor. This reduces any risk of the linoleum floor being torn by the weight of the machine and helps movement in an out of location. Please be sure to wipe area before you "test machine" as you may think your have a leak when there is not one.
