I have a split rubber seal so when it rains the carpet is soaked Does the whole seal have to be replaced

depends where split is [some seals are split from new and split goes to bottom]it may be the membrane between door and door trim panel that is damaged,if it's not complete and stuck to door at sides and bottom it will allow water to enter wrong side of seal. hope this helps.
