I've replaced my 2004 Mondeo reversing switch - dead easy.
It is just below the battery and air filter.
Remove battery and air filter - and their holders, and the switch is below - it has a connection with 2 wires coming out you need to remove carefully. Use a 22mm deep drive socket to remove whilst car is in neutral (as it goes into gearbox) and replace - you can't leave it out or fluid will escpae. Part is about £20 from Ford and it takes about half an hour in total. Refit air filter and battery
