another clio fob?

guys I have just changed the battery in the fob single button on a 2001 but the button part of the fob isnt working now?

Press the vehicle central locking button for more than 2 seconds,
The doors will lock then unlock,
Immobiliser LED will come on,
Press the button on the fob,
Immobiliser LED will go out,
This will syncronise the fob to the car and it should now lock/unlock the car
