call british gas they charge £145 to non members inc parts and labour fee for any fault i done it many time they will include pc board and fitting and come next day or if u buy the pcb for £80 on ebay its like this unscrew the 2 screw under panel lift of case. open screw holding the display screen pull of clip. then remove all clips holdind pcb wires in place they just pull out. next remove the metal hinge clips with screwdriver. now remove pcb. now read the instructions for your pcb if it a isar 24he ie put the black jump connector over the third pin line now refit the pcb back as you removed it before refitting cover check it works ohh and first please TURN OF POWER SUPPLY. also dont pull to hard on the wires as at times they can detach from clips inside the boiler. goodluck

thanks, the £250 includes the part I just think that it is pretty expensive when I can buy the part for about £100

in a word - no.

if you already have a new pcb then it shouldn't cost anywhere near that to fit it - get another quote.
if you don't have one and that's the price of the repair then it's pretty reasonable - the pcb's are expensive.

don't fit it yourself - there are 2 plugs the same on that pcb and if you get then the wrong way round then your shiny new pcb is fried.
