how to remove lower ball joint on 1992 2.0 vauxhall frontera sport?

managed to release ball joint with pickle fork but need to know how to remove the ball joint from the steering knuckle. haynes manual says lower upper control arm and steering knuckle but dosnt tell you how tried standing on it but wont move
