What is the electrical fault E90 on the Zanussi washer drier ?

What is the nature of the electrical fault that brings on the error code E90 on the Zanussi washer drier.
Robert Dodds, February 2004
E90 was easily solved by simply cleaning the filter (located bottom right of machine). Recommend placing a large empty dish/roasting pan under opening to catch any water spillage. Many thanks to an earlier contributor for this simple resolution - was worried it would mean a hefty call out charge, instead it was simple and took one minute.

what does error 0.26 mean on zanussi whaling machines

Remove the pipe connected to the pressure (water level) switch. Blow air through it to removed blockage caused by soap powder. I used a car foot pump, but a bike pump would do.

I've just has the same E90 fault, and thanks to this thread I've fixed it. Cleaned the contacts and a hairdryer on the boards for a few minutes.
Many thanks.

when I get an e90 message it means that my filter needs cleaning. once the filter is clean the message disappears.

WOW....I don't believe it. I followed the instructions and it worked a treat. Thanks Jas.

Hi My WJD 1257 W developed the E90 fault and I tightened the comms conecter both ends as Jas had suggested. My machine was unfortunatly the 1 in 100 which this does not fix. I removed the interface board gave it a very light spray of wd40 tightened the connections again and then ran the hair dryer on both boards for a while. When i powered up the machine the fault had cleared.

hey. my wjd1257w keeps leaking water. it started off as a little amount and now pratically floods the kitchen. i pulled it out to have a look at it and everything is plumbed in properly. the water seems to be coming from the base of the machine. any ideas how i fix it myself. it is definately leaking from underneath ie the base. any ideas would be greatly welcomed. thanks charlie and arber

But on mine (model WJD1257W) the control panel isn't where Jas suggests, and I'm having the same problem - any advice?

Hi guys
Just bought a new zanussi washer unpacked it plumbed it in plugged in and hey presto E90 plus all lights flashing.
Head scratching with no buttons working at all. so complained to the shop and told them Im taking it back.
After some thought I recalled when we brought it home I had water in my car from the washer I also remembered I had tipped it completely upside down getting it through the door, we spotted more water inside the packaging.
Seems to have been water inside getting somewhere it shouldnt have, after 2 hours in the house it seems to have cleared and is now working., but I thank you for your comments for future info.
by the way looked around the net ,where can I find details of the error codes that may crop up
Cyril

Hi Jas

I too had the same E90 message and Zanussi were going to charge £50 just to come out.

Read your reply and hey presto!!!!...I was one of the 99 out of a hundred, thank god

Thanks for the advice

I tipped my machine over and the main circuit board module get wet resulting in an E90 message.

After drying it out overnight it works fine now.

Obviously tolerant electronics.

E90 indicates a communications error between the user interface board (control panel) and the main circuit board. If you take the top off the machine (power off first!), then stand in front of it and look at the front left you'll see the main board and a blue multi-stranded cable coming out of it and going into the control panel. 99 times out 100 this is the culprit, if there's a poor connection at either end then this generates E90. You need to remove the control panel (screws behind soap drawer and plastic clips along the top), disconnect the blue cable, give the connector a bit of a squeeze with your pliers to tighten the connection, do the same to the other end on the main board, refit everything and away you go....hope this helps...yes I used to work for them
