Make sure that the throttlecable has not moved slightly so that it is not pulling the switch far enough.
Undo the screw, slightly, that holds the outer sleeve onto the engine and move it about half a centimeter and do the screw up again. is it better or worse. if worse. move the other way. If that doesn't fix it, then something is not moving with the throttle cable. If the mower is new enough to have a dead mans handle, that sould stop the engine when you let it go.
