i have a ford mondeo k reg with air bag how do i remove stearing wheel with out air bag going off.
as i need to straighten the wheel.

can any body help please??????? ty

you need to disconect the battery for a few hours, better if overnight, or your airbag might go off in your hands resulting in injury to oneself. check you have radio code and your immobilisor if you have one, as you might have a problem with them when you reconect battery.

Have a look behind the steering wheel there should be a couple of bolts holding the airbag to the wheel. You may need to turn the wheel to see them. once you have removed them lift out the airbag and horn assembly disconnect the wiring multi-plug.then you can remove the centre bolt to the wheel. take care when removing the wheel as it is wired to the column .Only lift the the wheel as much as you need to.The wheel is fitted on a hexagonal shaft and not a spline so if you only need to move your wheel a small amount it may end up the opposite way. in witch case it mas be easier to try to alter in on the track rod ends.
