vmax rough or no idle?

my vmax is very difficult to start from cold and will not idle unless the choke is open and then it needs to tick over at 2000 plus revs. as soon as the choke is taken off when engine is warm it stalls. can still ride bike over 3000 revs and it runs fine.has new air filter, splitfire plugs and full service this did improve things.all cylinders are firing but exhaust from one pipe is a lot hotter than the other.can not find any air leaks etc and problem seemed to come on overnight.any help greatly appreciated.

sounds like the pilot jet could be blocked, that'll be the carb to the cylinder with the cooler exhaust pipe, you say one is hotter, i think that's normal temperature and its the other you should check.Have you run low on fuel? some sediment from the bottom of the tank could have entered the carbs & be causing problems, try cleaning the jets first.
