can i set my timing on bravo 16 16v without using camshaft locking/setting tool. cambelt slipped slightly. renewed cambelt kit but cant adjust timing no marks on engine exept crank pully. engine idles ok but makes rattle noise when revved slightly.

there is a special tool needed it locks the cams in place thats why there is no timing marks on cams .u need to take rocker cover off get no 2 cylinder inlet cams facing upwards and number 3 cylinder exhaust cams facing up and u will not be far off with number one cylinder on tdc
