engine trouble. ?

was told the big ends had gone. then told my cam shaft was the problem?? not sure what to believe!! i have a vauxhall corsa twinport design. it's only 5 years old!!

A common problem with this engine is that a camshaft will snap in half because the camshaft retaining bolts work loose. 5 years old and about 35,000 miles is typical. You'll need a new camshaft and some valves, as they'll be bent. Expect a bill of getting on for a grand.

Doubt if it'll be the bigends unless you've run it really low on oil.
