Indesit WD12 keeps filling with water?

My Indesit WD12 washer/dryer keeps filling, the hose that comes from pressure switch is clear, the pressure switch contacts are clicking as it goes through a rinse and spin but the water keeps flowing, (drains/spins?pumps ok)the timer dial is doing its job but when it comes to off dot the red light flashes and because it keeps filling I push in the switch to cut off the fill. I suspect that there is a faulty inlet valve, not that I know anything about wasing machines but my son says no because when I switched the machine off manually the water stopped going in, his logic different from mine, I cannot see any damage to wires or anything loose, yes at least I switced the machine off before touching, my son got a shock, stupid idiot! Anyway is there any way I can tell for sure that it is this inlet valve, trying to find the multimeter which has mysteriously disappeared from tool box, HELP, washing piling up, cannot afford to get someone in and cannot afford new machine either.

Oh Oh! just found burnout marks on one end of the circuit board, looks like this could be the culprit. Does anyone know if this part is repairable or do I have to get a whole new unit? Sure this must be the cause, must say this has been a great washing machine over the years the only probs has been replacing the brushes twice so I cannot complain, fingers crossed I can get it sorted.
