Help - Accenta G3/Optima G3!?

Hi

We have an old alarm system in the house, the panel is an Optima G3. Tonight the alarm outside went off, no indication as to why on the panel. It wouldn't turn off by entering our code and so we've had to disconnect the alarm box. The system seems ok apart from none of the sensors are working and I've no idea why - they've not been touched and were working ok earlier today. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

PS - how can I check the new battery isn't faulty?!

Hi - have replaced the battery and also a fuse had blown but sensors still not working. Not sure what to look at next as nothing has happened to them???

battery has a service life of how many years?
Some companies change each yr some 3 some 5 .
Also know batts to be totally serviceable after 10.

But TBH 5 yrs is when I bin them too.

sorry i forget some times am talking to the user, inside the panel, there is a stanby battery, this supplies the panel in case of mains failure.it has a life of five years,so if your system older than this, replace with same type.sorry by end station i mean the panel, there should be fuses in there, check again, the g3 3 has two doors on it if i rem .check them

Sorry, my post should have said 'not familiar' with the system - in fact I have very little idea about how it works and we weren't given any instructions when we moved in as the previous owner had passed away.

Thanks very much for your reply - I'm familiar with the system at all - by 12v aux power supply do you mean the battery in the panel box? And what do you mean by the 'end station'? I can't see any fuses in the panel, but there is a seperate fuse running off of a mains cable underneath the alarm box. I guess I'm asking for step by step instructions in very simple language. Thanks again

if none of the sensors are working, then you have lost the 12v aux power supply, you need to check the mains feed to panel, plus replace the battery in the end station, also check all the fuses in the panel,as a duff battery can blow a fuse
