fast spin results in scuffmarks marks on light coloured garments?

Our 2 year old Diplomat washer when using the fastest spin leaves marks on the lighter coloured garments (as if being in contact with the wall of the drum and the aperture door seal) The fastest spin also results in small bits resting on the fabric of the garments (may be small congealed particles of old wash powder).
The above does not happen when using the slower spin speeds.
The model number is HJA8552 - HJA 8513.
Any advice will be appreciated
