Are my scooters brakes siezed?

hi guys,

I try to push my scooter and it feels stiff and i get a squeel noise front the brakes sometimes and it can hardly get up to speed because of this, can anyone help i have had a look at the front pads and i think there touching the disk how can i stop this? thanks

1. Your in the wrong section you want the motorcyle section further along.

2. Sound like the caliper piston/s has/ve stuck in brakes on position so you will need to remove the caliper and possibly the brake disc.
Once off and you free the piston/s check why they have done this it may be the pistons or piston bores are scored which means new caliper and pistons. Personally I'd play safe and replace the the caliper unit complete with new caliper and pistons then of course you'll have to bleed the air out of the braking system. Bear in mind I'm basing this on a car hydraulics being from the old motorcycle school of bikes that had ordinary cable and shoe brakes.

I had a vauxhall that did the same on front brakes and managed to remove the caliper and force the pistons back using a carpenters G cramp.
