Boiler fires up then cuts out. heating is on but hot water is intermittent, usually when I run a tap the boiler ignites giving initial hot water then cuts out. It keeps igniting and dying in quick succession and water doesn't heat up.

usually the ignition module goes on these giving few second bursts of flame one after the other lights for couple seconds, dies, lights for few seconds and so on.

Recognition/earth problems can also give this fault so worth an engineer call perhaps. ignition module around £100
