when i turn the steering wheel in my car it makes a rubbing noise. you can feel it through the steering wheel have been told it may be the power steering pump? does anyone know what this could be.

it could be pump, but, check your power steering fluid level, if you are losing any, look though the grill at the front, and you should see a "u" shaped pipe, i have found that these are prone to leak, thus making the noise you can hear, if you cannot see any leaks, then check the pump.
