Veritas 8 - Internal Sounder?

Hi,

Just a quick question about the veritas 8. (compact edition I believe)

This alarm was already installed when we moved in.

When we press any of the buttons, set the alarm, etc. the noise (presumably from the internal sounder) is extremely loud. You can hear it across the streets and is embarrassing when you're coming home as you know the neighbours must be able to hear it.

Reading the manual, it looks as though you can chaneg the internal sounded lever between quiet and loud (I really hope the current level isn't supposedly quiet!). But the engineering code doesn't seem to be the default one listed in the manual.

Do you have any idea how I can fix this as I really want to change it to a more sensible and manageable noise?

Thanks in advance,

Graham.

Hi,

Thanks for that.

I managed to get a reply in another forum with someone saying the same as you, but had the diagram to show me where it was. It was a variable pot that I could alter to help make it more quiet.

All is good now :-)

Thanks again,

Graham

Hi Graham
I am not sure about the Veritas 8 but the panels we install all have adjustable sounder volumes inside the panel so you can set accordingly and are silent for nightime setting.

Chances are the engineering code will have been changed by the installer at time of installation - the original is hardly left as default to prevent unauthorised access.

Hope this helps
