With a star screwdriver bit remove the screw behind the door to the dust bag compartment. Then press in the two retaining clips on the back of the speed controll plate furthest away from the dust bag. one is below the mains cable rewind buton the other below the on/off switch. The whole back cover, switches and speed controll will come off unpluging itself from the internal sockets. After this the star screws are revield which reqire removal plus one in the filter bay. The body will then split at the ruber strip neat the base.
