changing pads on anissan micra (automatic)?

I am changing the pads on my wifes micra and have changed the pads no problem however I cant get the piston to push back. Does the fact that the car is an automatic make any difference or is the piston just seized.

Take the cap off the master cylinder reservoir - otherwise you'll be trying to compress air against it. A G-Clamp can be used to push the piston back into the caliper.

Hi Ghost didn't want to try that without checking first in case there was something peculiar about the automatics. I will try this but not sure if that is the solution. I had to do that with my zafira but the pistons were notched and there was a tool for rotating them The pistons on the micra have no notches they are plain. Will let you know how I get on

try turning the piston when pushing it back(anti clock wise)
