We need to disconnect our house alarm. It is about 20yrs old. It is an Optima Plus 2 system

If your going to reuse this, and if your buying a new house you should really treat it to a new system. When you disconnect all the cables write down which one went where or cut back so the old colours are in place. Unless you do this day in day out you will never remember where everything went. Seen this time and time again.
So cut back and see which "strands" come from which cable. And re-installation should be easy when you re-wire with new cables. But for the price of a decent domestic alarm, Audible only get a new one and leave the old one as a bonus/selling point.

remove the fuse from the spur unit,open panel remove the leads from the battery,the outside sounder may ring,if it does,you can either wait till its dies,or get a ladder and disconnect the battery in the bell box ,if it does not sound,then your lucks in,it has not been fiited to bs,so there is no sab in bell box,you have now killed the alarm
