whirlpool side by side American style fridge freezer flashing on freezer side of cabinet - - .2 0c on fridge side but both are warm.Fan is running in the back by the compressor is not running ,even on start up when you plug out then back in again.I think it is a gassing issue as I found a small crack in the lower part of the floor in the freezer compartment.

compressors will run without gas.plugging and unplugging will not make them start up unless the pressure has equalised.If compressor isn't running or clicking in and out then I don't think its a gas issue.the compressor must run to work
