03 2.0ltr vvt megane.rattly when idle?????

megane 2003 2.0 litre vvt.
engine has a rattle when running idle hot or cold,but nothing when pedal is pressed??
been told something about a hydraulic part needs replacing.....is this correct??
car has only 55k genuine and is otherwise perfect???
any ideas???

hydraulic cam followers if they are badly worn camshaft may need changing as well,engine need's a good flushing out little oil getting to the top of the engine,causing follower's to wear,you will find service's have not been done correctly
