hello, if your abs light has been on and the vehicle has been driven more than 50 times the light will not go out until the vic unit has been cleared, i have the software to do this if it helps anyone out, 07855 750482, essex

hi trev yeah the problem has been there for about 6months do you think that the main dealer is the only one that will erase this code

for what it costs ,it is well worth replacing sensors and discs together ???????????

I know it's way too late now, but if the Abs warning was coming on for a long time it will need clearing by a dealer. This is beacuse after the fault registers a certain number of times the warning the ECU perminantly records it and the only way to get rid of it is with the dealer software.
However if the warning hasn't registered too many times and you repair the fault it will clear itself once you drive over 7kph

if you have the old style discs with the exciter ring cast in to them, have a look at the ring ,they'll probably be corroded ..there is a new disc out ,so far 100% reliable ..may have been cheaper to get DAF to diagnoise it in the long run..

Hi lads
thanks for your replies
I made sure the sensors weren't seized when fitting new discs I took them out and cleaned them
the only thing that I haven't done was the front sensors but when I was told it was the back discs I didn't bother checking the front as it should have show up on the diagnosis test test was done by a non daf dealer nad they never told me what the code number was to be honest I don't believe they plugged it in only drive it over a pit and look at the exciter rings on the rear axle

if it was diagnoised correctly ,before fitting new discs ,it is always wise to make sure the sensors aren't seized ,as having to strip it all back down to change a sensor is a pain ..try tapping the sensor in to it contacts the exciter ring ,then when you go for a shoty drive the light will go out ...do you know what the fault code was ??and was it done by a daf dealer ???

did you reset sensors by pushing them towards disc untill they touch[they will then set clearance themself as wheel turns] also make sure that abs segments on front discs aren't corroded and that you check all wheel bearings for excess play-if play excessive sensor will be pushed away giving too much clearance.
