How can this be fixed?

My son has a GileraVX125 scooter. It has developed habit of cutting out when pulling away at a junction. I collected it from a garage today and decided I would take it for a run. Most disconcerting when this started to cut out especially turning left onto main road and the bike dying. Road conditions were dry but the bike had just been cleaned but was doing before cleaned as well. I am getting close to changing the bike because it is becoming very unreliable. My thoughts are bad fuel, bad mix I just dont know. Any thoughts/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Chris. Going into probelm a bit more. You can be at a junction waiting to pull away and it will die as you try to accelerate. I asked around yesterday and came up with 2 things electrical and excess air being drawn in and choking engine. Will get electrics looked at

you say it cuts out when turning out of junctions,i would suspect the wiring around the steering head in particular the ignition wires & any cut-out switch wires,as the cabling in this area is always moving and bending with the steering & single wires can break down. What happens when you turn the handlebars with the bike ticking over on its stand, does it still cut-out? if so then a continuity check of those wires will find the fault.
