I have a 51 plate Renault Megane Fidji and the speedometer has stopped working. Could this be an electrical fault or simply a speedometer cable.

Hi Lisa, in that case it sounds like your instrument pod has failed!! your looking at a £300+ bill for a replacement!! +£ ?? fitting and coding into the car!!
If you do a search on here, you might find an answer that mentions a company that will repair the pod for a lot less.

Hi Nigel,
No we have no warning lights coming on the dash.
Everything is working fine except the speedo and the mileage is not recording.

Hi Lisa, do you have any warning lights on? as the your speedo is electronic with a sensor on the gearbox that also sends info to the engine computer and if this sensor has failed it should put on the engine management warning light, the other possible problem is the instrument pod itself, if you do a search on this site about renault instrument pod failures, there are very many reported problems and very expensive to fix!!
