on start up car rev at about 2500 then gos down to about 850 but then revs back up to 2500 on its own

I had a similar problem, try getting an air flow meter from a scrap yard. it is attached to the throttle body and has 4 black scoop like tubes coming off it. it is right on top of the engine right in the middle of the car.

my car "kangarooed" when it went over 2000 revs, and it autorevved to the point that i could pull away with reverse or in first or second without applying the accellerator.
