Diagnose my Belling oven problem?

Hi there, Puzzled over my Belling electric oven model number XOU270SS. The oven is not heating up correctly, i have registered temps of no more than 50oC on the side walls, bottom and fan area, the grill element seems to be operating as normal (hotter than my food probe can cope with). The thermastat light just stays on and the fan seems to be working ok. I guess it is either the thermastat that is buggered or one or more elements but not sure which. As i understand my oven there is elements top, bottom, rear (fan element) and both side walls which is why i think it is a thermastat issue, but other than handy with a screwdriver etc i need experienced and advice as how to narrow the problem down, as expected any advice greatly appreciated in advance...

the most common fault on a fan assited oven is the element that is surrounding the fan,if you remove all the trays,at the back of the oven there is a metal plate, held in place with two or four screws, remove these to see the element, make sure you turn the power off first.check for any sign of a blow out,i.e.splits,depending on the type of heater, some come out from the inside of oven, some you will need to remove oven,s back panel, hope this helps,
