vauxhall vectra?

key fob not working changed battery no different. put key in ignition no dash lights come on or anything else have tried pressing buttons on key fob etc no respone

No dash lights? That would not be caused by a faulty key fob.
Check the CAR battery.

First make sure that the battery is in the fob correctly. When removing the battery you only have a very short time before it looses it's code with the anti-theft on your car. Maybe the key fob has lost it's code. It's easy to reset the fob: put key into ignition, turn and press button on fob for about 6 seconds. This should re-set the code in the fob to the anti-theft device in the ignition.
