alanmellor: for a start the fuel pump is not under the bonnet! & if the cut off switch as cut off then you wont hear the noise coming from the fuel pump! what wud be the point of a fuel cut off if it NEVER cut it off? & jan i wud take note of the second reply cos i think he is 100% right (thats if ford do put then in the same place) & on mine it cut off when i hit a kerb! might not go off all the time the cut off switch works like this one big knock will cut it off but 5 or 6 little knocks woould cut it off so if you hit a kerb little hard the first time or second & so on might not cut off but 5 or 6 times it might & you will forget that you hit the kerb lol

jan, the fuel cut off is situated on the fuel pump open the bonnet and slightly to your left you will see the fuel pump on the top of the fuel pump there is a wire which attaches to the fuel cut off to check turn the ignition on and disconnect the wire if you here a clicking sound the switch is working if not then first try the fuse then run a seperate wire from the battery with the ingnition on the engine should start.. good luck

hi
If you look from the driver's side into the passenger foot well you should see a round hole in the side paneling under the glove box . This is assuming all mondeo's have the fuel cut off switch in the same place .
