Our washing machine stops mid cycle usually on a 40 wash, the start button flashing, when we press the start button it doesn't do anything so we switch it off. It does work on the quick wash 30. Do you think it's the thermostat/temperature?

followed above procedure on my zanussi 1621 start and end flash green together twice and end flashes further 3x. any ideas?

could be a heater fault but could be anything as the machine is told to stop working if it finds a fault.press the 1st and 2nd button in from the right together at the same time and then turn the program selector 1 position clockwise whilst still holding both buttons pressed in.when the leds start to chase let go of all the buttons.now rotate the program selector 9 more positions.make a note of the flashes.some may be green flashes and some may be red.count the flashes together and then count the second batch of flashes together.post the amount of flashes and I will try help you diagnose problem
