Can I fix my Miele G660?

My Miele G660 is now 12 years old. It has JUST stopped working. It appears to make some noise when switched on, of a humming nature, but doesn't appear to be taking in water. Nobody has turned off the water. The pump appears to make slurping noises as if THAT is working, but of course there is no water to remove. As I say, it just stopped working, one day OK, the next day not OK.
Any suggestions, or am I hoping for too much. We've had no problem with it in all this time, and it'd be a pity to throw it if it can be fixed.

have you checked the aquastop valve ,big grey plastic thing with brass connector that attaches your fill hose to your water supply it controls the supply of water.......they are not cheap costing 180 odd pounds and you have to be able to fit it or pay someone to fit it for you.
