ensure in neutral,if you look under vehicle, you will see where gear rod clamps to linkage. slacken clamp bolt,then inside car pull up gear lever gaiter, if you look at l/h side of lever you will see a hole which you will have to line up with a corresponding one in l/h of housing, you need to put a drill/pin/screwdriver or similar to hold lever in this position. under bonnet on top of gearbox where selector rod is, you should find a spring loaded plunger, if you turn selector a/clockwise [i think] whilst pushing pin in it will engage in selector in box. with both above locked you can now re tighten clamp. remove lever pin selector pin should pop out when lever wiggled.
