mountfield 25 throttle?

i have been given a mountfield 25 with a 7.5hp briggs and stratton engine should there be a throttle control ??? the gear lever is on the side and i think it has three gears any information on this mower would be helpfull thanks

I also have a mountfield 25 7hp, the main throttle is next to the key on the steering column, it also has an anti stall throttle on the carb.
