tamper reset?

Hi we have a 9600 Alarm, from trawling the net I am fairly sure it is a scantronic.

Recent work on the house has led to the alarm showing all sorts of faults and saying reset required.

It is showing Aux power failure, PIR, and tamper

is there anything I can do to reset it, it did work before the rewiring.

Thanks, Ian

Once again GTS thank you, you have been more than helpful, will email you once I receive it.
Just out of interest where abouts in the country are you based?

Must admit the blue backlight on the M Series keypads is dire for "older people" with poor eyesight.
Castle and Texecom do a nice large format display.
Touchscreen on Galaxy is good also if needing a bit more develpoment.
Cut my teeth on scannys, mmmmmm 9500 and Lims, good fun!

we have fitted over a thousand of the 9600,9800,am a scantronic guy,i love em to bits,we have a customer base of 2.800,most of them have scanny panels,a lot are 9800.9600,sjust a pity you cant get the pcb for them now,but we try our best to keep em going,am not a fan of menvier,i think their panels look and feel cheap, just my op tho,i know part of same comp, but i have told their rep when i went to a do in edinburgh

one last thing,do NOT use phone cable to rewire the alarm, some so called prof companies i know of do,(coz its cheaper)

gts, October 2010
i have a disc with all the scantronic user and egineering manuals,if you wish,i will copy it and send you it,you just stick it in your comp, and follow the leads, you will see the 9600 is marked discontinued, just click on this and then you can download the books you require, all free!!!!i could have sent you a lead into scantronic, but you must be reg with then

some were, others are polythermic,(they reset themselves)the 9600 is a very old panel, the zones are clearly marked, there are 8 in total, with anti-tamper loops marked a/t 1,a/t 2.this means that you take the tamper cables from zone one and zone two,put one side of the tamper loop from zone one,to a/t1,twist the otherside of the tamper loop to zone two tamper loop, put these two cables into the middle con on the pc,then put the other tamper cable from zone two, into the a/t2 on pc,the rest are a repeat of these steps, remove all power before working on the panel, the engineering book is obsolete, the top conn are zone one, then the tamper loops, then zone two,etc

Thank you very much for that GTS,
I fear I may have compounded the problem by changing the front door. Having said that the wiring in general seems a bit brittle so it may be time to pull in some new cables as the install is 10 years old.
Is it possible to get hold of an installation manual for the system anywhere, pulling in some new cables and making some connections should not be beyond me but could do with knowing what to connect where.
Are the fuses glass?

lost in tech, October 2010
it is indeed a scantronic panel, all be it an old one,you have some cut cables my friend, and have blown the fuses in panel, you will need to get the idiots who cut the cables to replace or repair them, better to replace as i would not trust guys who cut or melt alarm cables,
if i were you i would get an alarm company in to sort it out, better and cheaper in the long run
