High Temperature on 1993 Clio?

Hi, I have a 1993 1.4 Clio, the temperature gauge keeps going sky high, I've been told it's an air lock. I've tried everything i can think of to get rid of the air, forcing water around the system in the way of a hose pipe in the expantion bottle, opening the bleed screw on the rad and running the car, squeezing the pipes making sure water was passing through, all the old way stuff but it still hasn't done the job, can someone please help ? also, I'm not losing water either.

has any head or radiator work been done or gaskets disturbed ?, take it to a local garage and get them to vaccum the cooling system and refil it (if they have got the equipment to do it) this procedure will elliminate any air locks, if this fails further investigation is required. good luck
