I have a Hoover HDV6 tumble dryer and it makes a terrible squeeking noise . I have tried applying some WD40 to the back of the inside of the dryer but to no avail
i worked for hoover for twenty years, just be careful when working on the machine,as the casing has very sharp edges inside, dont matter if the engineer gets cut,as long as the customer does not :-)

Only a guess it could be a dry bearing on the drum shaft which may need replacing.
