delonghi gdf603 oven selector switch?

hi all
the oven light keeps flickering on and off and both heat and fan stop, then start, if I jiggle the selector switch it comes back on, so I'm guessing a loose/bad connection, the replacement part seems reasonable at £30, its just a matter of getting in there to replace it, how do I get to that part, I'm fairly handy, but obviously if this is going to involve gas or anything potentially lethal I'd rather not (I replaced the oven heating element a while back no probs, so not worried about getting in there, its how do i get in there!)

any pointers]

thanks

HI Tim, Iam having similar problems.. seems like a loose connection as comes and goes off. But is the selector the main problem or is the element also needs to be changed??

Any advice will be helpfull..

i'll answer it myself..... lift off all the hob covers and gas thingies underneath (both bits just lift out), there are 2 screws either side of the gas bit undo these on each one, then undo the 2 screws eitherside of the oven at the front on the sides. Top section is hinged at the back and just lifts up. selector switch is now accessible.
