gilera dna 125cc will not start?

gilera dna 125cc never wants to start first time it makes a sound like its trying too but won't,it will start but it sometimes it can take up to an 5-6 trys to get it going when it does it runs great. its got a new battery in and the spark plug is ok any ideas on what it could be?

your fault will probably be one of these 3 in this order, 1 not enough battery voltage to the starter motor so try charging your battery or replace it, 2 starter motor is LAZY and therefoe cannot spin the bendix gear in the transmission cover quick enough for it to turn the crank, or you actuall starter bendix is very lazy, i have changed shed loads of these, the spring starts to weaken

I would suspect your starter motor is playing up.

sometimes it'll make a spinning sound if I try a couple of times to start it it trys to catch but doesn't,if I then leave it for 40mins to an hour and try to start it, it'll start after a couple of trys. Had it out this morning for an hour runs great when its going
