why wont my vauxhall combo1.7 dti start?

my 2003 vauxhall combo 1.7 dti had a spell of cutting out and now it wont start at all,it turns over fine,i suspected fuel so replaced the fuel filter,no different, someone said it could be a control box on the engine or somewhere on the pump that controls the amperage thats a common fault apparently and easily replaced but iv no idea where it is,any ideas????

think the box you are on about is on the rear of the engine block, access from under veh.the box can be opened up and check soldered joints on printed circuit board, also you may smell burning, replace if you see any of these, good luck
