how do u change a track rod arm on the 1998 escort on the drivers side cant get the old one off ready for the new one to go on.

there is a special track rod arm tool for these but have used a plumbers tap nut wrench on these in the past

use a pair of good mole grips and a hammer to hit them anti clock wise to undo then reverse to put back on
