Why does the alarm sound when I switch off the electrical power supply?

I want to install some new lights. The lights are on the same cicuit as the alarm system. When I switch off the power completely or remove the fuse for that circuit the alarm goes off. This has not happened on previous occasions and I am puzzled as to why it should be happening now.

because your battery is dead - it needs changing- see other threads. Please remember that the mains voltage will hurt. if younsee other threads you will know what to do.
1 - locate battery
2 - change battery
