Have just changed glow plugs in a 58 plate maxus.
I found the best way is to remove the front grill, bonnet slam panel, radiator etc and work through the hole in the front. By doing this, you have plenty of room to work and don't need 4 hands the size of a childs. It also saves the expence of snapping one off as you can apply wd40 or similar to free them off whilst you have a cuppa.
doing it this way also gives you the chance to change the anti freeze as you usually only notice glow plugs dont work when it gets cold.
Hope this helps someone.
