My dash board lights- on the speedo and rev clock panel flicker on and off for a min or two at a time. Could this be a loose fuse? can't afford a garage for sucha small job. road tax due!!.
All other lights clock and radio lights ok
hi, my ka does the same, light in speedo is on and then 3 min intervals it goes on and off, I did change the bulp but still the same problem, don't think its a connection fault as it feels like the speedo screen on top is hot after it goes off. so I think it gets too much power?

Friends 06' ka had no power to the instrument light connecting strip. Bulb was ok. Took a single LED a couple of series 500ohm resistors and 30cm of wire. I just stole +12V and earth from headlight height adjustment switch connector (black and orange). Duct tape to keep the LED in place where bulb was on top of dash. Goes to same fuse with light buzzer and other dash lights.

This would appear to be quite common with KAs. Does that mean that we are talking about a design fault here and, if so, shouldn't Ford be responsible for sorting it out?

my car is a ford ka 2003 model 1300. have same problem dash lights out side lights on can you help cheers.

Dash lights are on the sidelight circuit/switch. Most common problem is the switch in the indicator arm. If sidelights are also not on when the dash isn't then it is the switch/circuit connections and not the Dash itself.

This forum entry gives details of how to get behind the dash:
Thaks for this, sounds as if it could be over and above me. Think I will put up with the flickering for now. Just not drive at night. will check fuses first as well, which has been suggested.

its not easy to get to the bulb but thats the problem done a few over last few months bulb is situated top of speedo to get at it you need first to take stereo out then stereo facia then find the screws holding facia that goes from stereo side right round to clocks and undo them all 2 under top of clocks 2 under stereo housing switch gear then pull facia off and place to side then undo screws holding clocks in pull back and bulb situated on top reverse side good luck
