We have an optima 2 plus burglar alarm fitted 20 years ago. The remote keypad which is downstairs has ceased to function, none of the buttons work and we need to replace it. The main keypad which is upstairs is fine so we dont need to replace the whole system. A friend fitted this so we dont even know where he got the system from. Any ideas anyone?

you woul be better off upgrading the control panel and fitting a newer optima model, with RKP. You stated a friend fitted. If they get from an electrical wholesalers- unless trade it will not cost you an arm and leg, also get them to replace the 1.9ah battery at the same time as it will save asking the question:-
where is my battery?
can i change my battery?
the outside bell sounds when the mains is switched off?
