Peugeot 307 1.6 diesel - fault codes!?

I took my car into a local garage for a diagnostic (£25) as I sometimes get the Anti pollution fault plus my oil level seems to have increased slightly when I've checked the dipstick (had it serviced in June) I have started to use fuel only from Shell now and put Millers diesel power eco max in at the same time.

The test results were:
Fault code: P2408, P1351, B1012, P0409 and P0606
the mechanic said I should take it to a Peugeot dealer as the 3rd and 4th codes were unknown?

I went to Peugeot the next day the immediately said they would have to do their own diagnostic £85 and then depends on what it shows up - which I got the impression it could range from £200 -£1000!!!

Can anyone adivse about the above codes and do I have to take it to a Peugeot dealer as it all sounds way too expensive!

Well the Autodata manuals do not list a 1.6 diesel only a 1.6 petrol and the autodata manuals are what most independant garages use!! Having said that the P0409 & P0606 are common fault codes to all makes & models of cars/vans so it still looks like your engine ECU has internal failure of its proccesor!!

Hi Nigel
My car is a Peugeot 307 1.6 hdi 110, 2004
thanks for your reply

Hi, first there is no 1.6 diesel listed only 1.4 or 2.0??
P0409 is EGR sensor A circuit malfunction, causes wiring, poor connection, EGR sensor or ECU
But the one code that is more important is the P0606 that is ECU proccesor fault, this is most likely causing all the problems, sound like the ECU has major internal faults!!
